Flash Sales – Target impulse shoppers and create a sense of urgency with hour-long offers or limit the amount of stock you’ll be selling at a discount. For example: Only 500 available at this price – when they’re gone they’re gone! Also, make sure you’re promoting your returns policy to reassure potential shoppers and reduce concerns about the product not being right for them. To reduce the level of returns, update key products with as much detail as possible.

Receipts – Reassure gift buyers with extended receipts. Make sure your extended returns policy is clearly promoted across your product pages and within your basket. Provide free gift-wrapping for online orders to save customers time and hassle.

iPads - To prevent customers from becoming frustrated and having to wait in long queues at the till, have members of staff taking payments with iPads.  Taking payments on the shop floor will also give staff an additional opportunity to up-sell complementary items.

Don’t Delay Delivery – Have a member of staff packing and processing orders as they come in over the weekend.  Prioritise express, next-day and international delivery orders. Although we are a long time away from Christmas Day, customers may need their orders to give as gifts or for Christmas events at the start of December.

Adwords – Check the competition for your most important targeted keywords – make sure that your Black Friday offers stand out from the crowd. As your Black Friday promotion is likely to take up most of your ad text, ensure your sitelinks include all your other USPs.
Check that none of your keywords have a low quality score due to “ad relevance”. If they do, either update your ad text or move these keywords into their own ad group so that you can match up the text.

Your Social Accounts – Utilise all your social pages over the Black Friday weekend. Use #blackfriday and #cybermonday when talking about your offers. Post regularly over the weekend and drive additional traffic with paid posts.
