This month, the Venditan team attended GCP NEXT - Google’s Cloud conference in London. As Google’s official e-commerce cloud partner, the team were on hand to talk all things online retail and the discuss the benefits of moving commerce solutions into the cloud.

Feedback was positive - Venditan is Google’s official e-commerce cloud partner and conversations throughout the day were focused on all aspects of cloud based e-commerce solutions - from App Engine and Datastore to Cloud SQL and Cloud Storage.

Rapport - Venditan’s premium post purchase product was showcased as part of the conference. The Rapport platform fills the ‘dead zone’ experienced by customers once and order has been placed - keeping the conversation going through a combination of SMS alerts and a personlised web feed.

Innovative use of Google Cloud was on display from a number of sectors and industries. WIth GCP Next being the largest gathering of the Google Cloud Platform community - there was plenty of new technology, software and applications on show - from Emotobooth, who use Google's Vision API to correlate portrait images based on emotions detected, to Spotify, who are using Google Cloud technology to provide forward thinking infrastructure solutions.

Diverse range of products and technologies on offer from Google Cloud - this allows us to develop a wide range of solutions - to put it simply, Google does the heavy lifting in regards to infrastructure and maintenance so we can focus our applications to help retailers grow.

Announcements were aplenty - with Google launching a new cold storage service for archived data, Coldline. In conjunction with this, Google have reviewed their storage services and re-aligned them, creating a new tier called Multi-regional.

WhY Google Cloud? The Cloud provides Venditan with a number of advantages from flexibility and scalability to a reliable and robust platform to develop our ecommerce products.
